The Trust makes grants to charitable bodies at the discretion of the Trustees. They focus most of their support on organisations based in Bedfordshire or projects that benefit the people of that county. A small number of national charities with a focus on family social welfare issues are also supported. The Trustees are also sympathetic towards applications received from organisations of which the late Humphrey Whitbread was a benefactor.
In the case of an application on behalf of a Church, these are handled on our behalf by the Beds and Herts Historic Churches Trust (BHHCT). Please see the Application Process and Forms section for their contact details.
Due to the COVID-19 crisis currently affecting all of us, and following careful consideration, our Trustees have chosen to support the Bedfordshire and Luton Community Foundation (BLCF) Emergency Fund, allowing them to then support smaller local organisations in need at ground level. Our Trustees are keeping in close contact with BLCF to monitor the situation.
If you have a more immediate need than our next meeting due to be held in March 2021, and feel that The Wixamtree Trust may be in a position to assist, please do continue to submit your application on-line in the usual manner. All new applications will be reviewed on a monthly basis for the foreseeable future.
We do hope that you are able to access any support available at this difficult time and we are thinking of you and hoping that you are able to stay safe.
